Motivation:

Because of the limitation of available resources, it is often very difficult for small and mid-sized enterprises to assess the performance of their logistics processes and to evaluate possible options for organizational changes.

The objectives of the project are:

Adaptation of existing methodologies for the description of different logistics processes to the specific needs of small- and mid-sized enterprises.
Development of criteria for the assessment of the logistics processes. Economic as well as human-oriented aspects should be covered by these criteria to get a holistic impression of the quality of specific processes.
Analysis and assessment of logistic processes in small- and mid-sized enterprises of different branches of industry according to this methodology.
Deduction of reference models of the logistic processes to support the solution findings in the redesigning of processes in small and mid-sized enterprises.
