Motivation:
The increasing time pressure often makes a complete restructuring of the order processing necessary. The reorganization should not focus only on the solving of problems in the area of information technology but also has to take an holistic approach. Human aspects, organizational structures and information technology have to be optimized simultaneously, to improve significantly the performance.
The objectives of the project are:
- Development of a proceeding concept for a holistic optimization of the order processing in small- and mid-sized enterprises
- Development of a methodology to support the analysis, the conception and the implementation
- Development of the evaluation and usage of information technology as a tool to support the order processing.
Status of the project:
The project has been completed at the end of 1997. The final results of the project have been published in a guide to support small- and mid-sized enterprises in the reorganization of their order processing. This guide will be distributed to about 3000 companies. The results have also been presented to about 200 representatives of different small- and mid-sized enterprises in a one-day conference in December.
