TQM in Hospitals Based on the EFQM Model II

Motivation:

This project continues to implement the TQM system in a hospital. Since the main structures are now implemented according to the EFQM-model, the task now is to develop processes for ongoing quality improvement.

The objectives of the project are:

• Implementing and training in the process of choosing goals and developing strategy,
• Establishing priority systems and decision methods for resource allocation,
• Developing a controlling system for the project group's work and their results.

The following activities are in progress:

• Ongoing audit of the strategy-building process,
• Translating strategic goals into priorities,
• Developing criteria and categorizing important problems, to allow decisions on what to do first.

The following activities have already been completed:

Developing a controlling system for the project groups. This has been achieved by establishing a report system for the cost and benefit of the group's work. This is accompanied by a step-by-step guide for project work as such.
